diversiCOM seeking nominations for Teacher of the Year award

Nominations are being accepted for the diversiCOM Teacher of the Year. This program recognizes excellence in education by offering an award and monetary prize to the selected teacher along with $1,000 to his or her school.

Nominations for the diversiCOM Teacher of the Year award will be scored by a selection committee based on criteria such as individual teaching style, creativity in encouraging student achievement, consistent support of students' growth, and community involvement.

Kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers at schools within the diversiCOM service area are eligible for Teacher of the Year. Nominees must hold a bachelor's degree and a Minnesota teaching license and have taught for a minimum of three full years.

Eden Valley-Watkins Public Elementary and High School

Kimball Public Elementary and High School

Melrose Public Elementary and High School

Richmond Public Elementary

Sauk Centre Public Elementary and High School

Holy Cross Elementary School-Pearl Lake

Holy Family Elementary School-Sauk Centre

St. Andrew's Elementary School-Greenwald

St. John's Elementary School-Meire Grove

St. Mary's Elementary School-Melrose

St. Peter & Paul's Elementary School-Richmond

Applications to nominate a teacher for this award can be obtained online at www.diversicom.net, or at an eligible school. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, to diversiCOM, ATTN: Teacher of the Year Selection Committee, PO Box 100, Melrose, MN 56352. The 2011 Diversicom Teacher of the Year will be announced in February 2011.
