Minnesota House Minority Leader Paul Thissen has named Rep. Larry Hosch, St. Joseph, to the House DFL caucus leadership team for the 87th Legislative Session. Hosch will serve as one of four minority whips.
"Rep. Hosch has been a consistent leader who understands the unique challenges facing Greater Minnesota," said Thissen. "I am gratified by his willingness to work with me to tackle the challenges that await us."
Hosch, who will be serving his fourth term representing District 14B, served as an Assistant Majority Leader during the most recent legislative session. He said he was honored by the selection and looked forward to the important work ahead.
"Minnesotans across our state face significant challenges. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on the important issues facing our community and state," said Hosch. "As a caucus leader I will continue to bring the Greater Minnesota perspective to the State Capitol and will guide our caucus as we work together to grow our economy and get Minnesota moving in the right direction."
Joining Hosch on Rep. Thissen's leadership team will be Rep. Deb Hilstrom, Brooklyn Center, Rep. Terry Morrow, St. Peter, Rep. John Lesch, St. Paul, and Rep. Melissa Hortman, Brooklyn Park.
"I am very excited to work with this leadership team," said Rep. Thissen. "The team reflects the breadth of our caucus which represents every part of this state. Each of them brings an important set of skills that will serve our caucus and Minnesotans well."
