EV-W-K Cross Country
Tuesday, Sept. 28, the EV-W-K Cross Country team traveled to Collinwood County Park near Cokato to compete in the Dassel-Cokato Invitational meet.
The girls' varsity placed seventh. The varsity girl finishers were Raelynn Callander 22nd-17:36, Molly Hesse 29th-17:45, Renee Berg 48th-18:55, Samantha Stuve 56th-19:51, Kayla Overland 59th-19:53, Jenifer Notch 64th-20:31 and Nicole Orth 68th-21:24.
The JV girls' team placed seventh. The individual JV girl finishers were Brooke Winter sixth-17:54, Kelsey Libbesmeier 46th-21:08, Stephanea Roser 52nd-21:21, Erin Dingmann 72nd-21:33, Maria Roser 76th-22:11, Megan Libbesmeier 85th-23:46, Brooke Merten 87th-23:56, Janessa Dahle 90th-24:26, McKenzie Libbesmeier 96th-25:10 and Jaren Thell 97th-25:20.
In the boys' JV race, Brett Mattice placed 34th in 22:09.
The Junior High girls' placed 33rd in their 3000 meter race.
The individual finishers were Denzel Atherton fifth-14:27, Madison Libbesmeier sixth-14:30, Lauren Libbesmeier 10th-14:42, Grace Kopitzke 14th-15:12 and Kaitlyn Truenow 31st-17:58.
The race lengths are: boys' varsity and JV 5000 meters (3.1 miles), girls' varsity and JV 4000 meters (2.5 miles), the junior high race varies from 2000 meters to 3000 meters.
Cross Country Paynesville Invitational
Thursday, Sept. 30, the EV-W-K
Cross Country team competed in the Paynesville Invitational meet held at the Paynesville Golf Course.
Many of the teams at this meet are the same top teams we will compete against at our section 6A meet and the others are the top teams in section 5A. This meet has very tough competion and is a very hard course.
The varsity girls' team placed seventh. Coach Holly Hansen said "There was only a 20-point spread between the third-and the seventh-place teams, five high-quality teams finishing that close.
It will be exciting to see what the next few weeks bring. A great first-varsity showing by Brooke Winter. The Paynesville course is tough, the girls had great races and some runners had personal bests."
Individual girls' varsity finishers were Raelynn Callander 16th-17:29, Molly hesse 23rd-18:01, Brooke Winter 29th-18:44, Samantha Stuve 34th-19:49, Jenifer Notch 37th-20:03, Kayla Overland 38th-20:06 and Kelsey Libbesmeier 40th-20:31.
The individual JV girls' results were Denzel Atherton 19:49 (PB-first 4000 meter JV race), Lauren Libbesmeier 19:55 (PB-first 4000 meter JV race), Nicole Orth 21:07 (PB), Erin Dingmann 21:15 (PB), Megan Libbesmeier 23:30, Janessa Dahle 23:54(PB), Jaren Thell 24:41 (PB) and McKenzie Libbesmeier 25:02. Complete JV results were not available.
In the boys' JV race, Brett Mattice had a time of 21:39.
The girls' junior high team place second. The indvidual finishers were Grace Kopitzke seventh-12:17, Madison Libbesmeier eighth-12:12:18, Stephanea Roser 14th-13:13, Maria Roser 16th-13:35 and Kaitlyn Truenow 20th-14:23.
The next meet will be at the Litchfield Colf Course, Thursday Oct. 7, starting time 4 p.m.
