Kimball Kruisers' 4-H Club Report

The Kimball Kruisers' 4-H Club held the September meeting at John and Sheri Gohmann's house with a potluck and some volleyball. The food was tasty. Our roll-call question was, "What was your favorite part of the Meeker County Fair?" We had lots of interesting answers from food, to animals, to judging. Congratulations to all 4-Hers! Chelsey Maus told us about her participation in Arts-In at the Minnesota State Fair. She practiced many days and performed in shows all 12 days of the Fair. New officers will be elected at the October meeting.

The pumpkins in the 4-H garden by Bormans are doing really well. We will harvest them for our buyer in October. Thanks to all the families who helped plant, weed and water the garden all summer long.

Please attend the Arts in the Park at Willow Creek Park Thursday evening, Sept. 30, in Kimball. There will be lots of art on display and music to enjoy. Some 4-H members will be doing face-painting for kids. National 4-H Week is Oct. 3-10. Our 4-H members will be wearing our 4-H T-shirts to school Wednesday, Oct. 6, and we will be doing a window display inside Kimball Elementary School to promote 4-H. After the meeting, the younger kids played games while the adults and teenagers planned activities for the coming 4-H year.

Help support the Meeker Co. 4-H Interstate Exchange group at a breakfast at the VFW in Litchfield from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3.

Our next meeting includes ditch cleaning before our 6 p.m. meeting at St. Anne's Church in Kimball. All those interested in 4-H and new families who want to join are welcome.
