The Kimball Cubs hosted the Maple Lake Irish last Friday night, Sept. 24. It was homecoming at Kimball Area High School, and the kids were involved in multiple activities during the week in celebration of Homecoming. The Cubs started out slowly and never really recovered in a 47-8 loss to the Irish.
The young Cubs made many mental mistakes on both sides of the ball. They played hard for the game but just seemed to be one to two steps slower than the Irish. Bad tackling and missed assignments on defense were the order of the night. Many young players got action in the game for the first time in the season. The defense was led by senior lineman Mitch Pramann, who led the team with 10 tackles and a sack. Eighth-grader Jordan Joseph was second on the team with nine tackles. This was Jordan's first real action on the varsity level. The offense was led by junior running back Danny Lochen who was the leading rusher and scored the lone points for the Cubs.
The Cubs travel to Holdingford to play a tough Husker team. The team will work hard this week to improve their performance on the field this week. Thank you for supporting the football team this season.
