St. Gertrude's in Forest City is sponsoring a Pedal Pilgrimage to the St. Benedict's Monastery in St. Joseph, Friday, Oct. 22, of MEA weekend.
The pedal pilgrimage is a prayerful 30-mile bike tour from St. Gertrude's in Forest City to
St. Joseph. The route follows along CSAH 2, stopping for prayer at Watkins, St. Nicholas, Cold Spring and Jacobs Prairie, culminating by joining the Sisters of St. Benedict's Monastery for evening prayer at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at the Monastery.
While the prayer will reflect the Roman Catholic tradition, this pilgrimage is open to people of all faith traditions. If St. Gertrude's is contacted by Oct. 15, arrangements can be made for bikes and biker to get back to Forest City. Without prearrangement, pilgrims are responsible for getting home once at St. Joseph.

, with Pedal Pilgrimage in the subject line. Registration becomes official when a signed registration and liability waiver form is accepted with a $30 fee. (Includes T-shirt, and dinner at the Monastery).
Oct. 22 is Education Minnesota (MEA) weekend. The Pilgrimage starts 10 a.m. with prayer in St. Gertrude's Church 31608 650th Ave. Litchfield, Minn.
