Thursday, Aug. 12, Stearns County Sheriff's Office and Gold Cross and Holdingford Rescue responded to an accident with injuries at County Road 9 and 390th Street in Holding Township. A Chevy truck going north on County Road 9 crossed over the centerline and went into the westside ditch, striking a culvert just north of 390th Street. The driver Terry Laverne Runge, age 31, of St. Anna, fled from the scene. Rescue along with the Sheriff's Department searched the area but were unable to locate Runge. The Sheriff's Department received a call about three hours later from a roommate who said she shpoke with Runge and he was in a lot of pain and couldn't move. He said he was laying in a cornfield northwest of the crash site. Gold Cross and Holdingford Rescue responded to the scene again. Runge was found and taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for his injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
