Curtain opens this week for "The Sound of Music," still time to get your tickets
The Pit Orchestra has joined rehearsals for the Great Northern Theatre Company (GNTC) summer production of "The Sound of Music". There are a total of 16 pit members, including conductor Val Hollermann, who is making her 14th appearance in the pit. Many of the other musicians are veterans as well, along with a few newcomers. They sound amazing and are equally impressed with the quality of singing on stage. It's a magical mixture you don't want to miss.
In the picture, Captain von Trapp, Maria and the children are performing the song "Edelweiss" at the Festival Concert. The Captain is being portrayed by Jeff Rieffer (center) and Maria is portrayed by Kim Morford (between Gretl & Marta). The von Trapp children are being portrayed by (from left to right) Brigitta, Maggie Schmaltz; Louisa, Hailey Bzdok; Friedrich, Andrew Lingl; Liesl, Kelly Davis; Kurt, Sawyer Binsfeld; Gretl, Aedyn Colville and Marta, Sophia Waletzko
