Happy Spring from Early Childhood! We are busy gearing up for our upcoming summer program that starts June 8. Come and join us for Summer Science for families with preschoolers. We will have Kimball Playtown for age 0-5 Wednesdays, June 9, 16, 23, and 30. Watkins classes meet Tuesdays, June 8, 15, 22, and 29, and Thursdays, June 10, 17, 24, and July 1. Look at our Web site, www.kimball.k12.mn.us, under Community Education for more information.
Thursday, May 6, we are offering an Infant Massage Class 6-7 p.m. at the Watkins Elementary School. Come with your not-yet-mobile infant to learn massage techniques to help your baby relax, enhance bonding and well-being, aid in growth and health, increase weight gain and immune function. Infant massage has been proven to help babies sleep longer and sounder.
We are also opening up registration for the 2010-2011 Play and Learn School April 15. We offer morning half-day preschool two times a week for 3-year-olds, and afternoon half-day preschool two times a week for 4- and 5-year-olds. All classes are integrated with children who have goals to meet in the school year. We enjoy playing, learning and getting comfortable in the school setting.
Fall 2010 starts our second year of the PLS extended day with Cubs Club Enrichment Program. This is an option for families who want their child in Plan and Learn School two times a week and want the learning environment of enrichment two, four, or five days a week. Busing is not provided in the middle of the day, so children can attend the Enrichment Program and come to school for full days. It is an exciting new program and we hope to have more and more families using this option for the year before Kindergarten.
Call to register or find out more information about any of the above programs at 398-7700, extension 217.
Cub Prints is coming out this week, but will not be mailed to families as we have done in the past. Each youngest child will have a Cub Prints in their school bag this week. If you don't have a school-age child and would like to have a Cub Prints, please stop by any school and ask for a copy.
