St. Cloud StandDown April 30

The Spring St. Cloud Stand Down will be held at the National Guard Armory in St. Cloud starting at 8 a.m. and running until 3 p.m. Friday, April 30.

Many non-profit, government, and for-profit agencies will be on hand to provide information to veterans. Special attention is being directed to the families of the National Guard and Reserve unit members who have been mobilized. Some of the providers include:

• Social Security for benefits counseling

• Drug and alcohol treatment information

• PTSD treatment information and referral

• Veterans benefits counseling

• Senior citizens information

• Haircuts

• County veterans services offices

• County social service agencies

• VVA-290 services

• Legal consultation

• Wills and living wills

• IRS & MN Dept. of Revenue counseling

• Work Force Center for information on jobs

• AA, NA, GA

• Housing information

• Minnesota Re-entry Program information

• Higher Education information

• Disabled Veterans information

• Hepatitis C information

• Picture ID cards

• Minnesota Veterans Home information

• Minnesota Veterans Cemetery

The Salvation Army Welcome Wagon will serve "brunch" for the early arrivals, and a sit-down dinner will be served at noon.
