Meeker Memorial Hospital will host a Community Open House from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 18. It is a long-awaited event for Meeker Memorial Hospital, to mark the completion of Phase One of the $26.5 million expansion project.
The 75,000 square-foot expansion and renovation project addressed many space and patient flow needs with a new facility design and redesign to include:
New and expanded Emergency Department with private treatment rooms, ambulance drive-thru and Heli-pad
In-house MRI and all new Diagnostic Imaging department with new digital mammography
State-of - the-art surgical suites, endoscopy procedure room and patient post-op rooms
More privacy at admission, new space for business office, medical records, and information desk
Laboratory patient-care area
Open Door Gift Shop and Renewed Prairie Winds Café
Rehabilitation services complete with PT, OT and speech treatment areas in one location
Cardiac Rehabilitation Center
Sleep studies suites and expanded specialty clinics
Expanded Center for Senior Behavioral Health
All private in-patient rooms, OB suites with added family space and waiting rooms
Increased parking and canopied entrance to the south
With the completion of Phase One, the new and enhanced MMH facility is able to deliver a new patient experience and expanded services to the communities that serve the Meeker County area. Many community members and businesses supported the hospital building project through a capital campaign launched in the fall of 2007. The Invest In the Future Campaign was set to raise $1.25 million to help offset the costs associated with construction. The MMH Foundation passed that goal in the spring of 2009, so a new challenge goal of $1.5 million was set. Thanks to the many supporters, MMH is ready to reach the challenge goal.
In thanks and appreciation, MMH will host a Community Open House event from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 18.
The opening Welcome, Invocation and Dedication program will begin at 2 p.m. in the new south lobby entrance. From that point, there will be tours directed throughout the facility (from the new patient areas to the boiler room), all featuring the new space and services with displays or demonstrations. A theme of health and healing will be promoted with refreshments and accompanied music. Children's activities will be hosted in the new Conference Center, and free H1N1 flu shots will be offered by Meeker County Public Health from 2-4 p.m.
A special MMH past-employee alumni gathering is planned to begin at 12:30 p.m. and continue to 4 p.m. in the Conference Center on the lower level of the new facility.
To close the Open House Event, a time capsule will be resealed to include the many accomplishments to-date, to mark this time in history.
