All 32 branch libraries of the Great River Regional Library (GRRL) will be closed Monday, April 12, for staff training.
GRRL operates 32 public libraries in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties, and has approximately 235 regular employees, the majority in part-time capacities, and 40 substitute employees. An all-staff training is organized once every two years. It will take place at the St. Cloud Public Library which, like other libraries in the system, will be closed to the public April 12.
"Because libraries are integral to the way communities receive and share information, and because information technologies are increasingly influential and dynamic, it's essential that we provide opportunities for all staff to stay in touch with developments in library science," said Karen Pundsack, GRRL's Coordinator of Patron Services. "Our libraries are busier now than ever, and coordinated training is one way we can be sure all employees receive the information they need to do their jobs well."
