Drug arrests made in central Minnesota

St. Cloud March 20

The Central MN Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at the address of 2052 67th Avenue North in St. Cloud Saturday, March 20. Three persons were arrested for controlled substance crimes. Joseph Hengel, age 27, Angela Tomassani, age 22, and Sarah Sowada, age 24, all from St. Cloud were taken into custody.

One pound, three ounces of methamphetamine were located during the search of the residence.

Hengel and Tomossani will be charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute.

Sowada will be charged with fifth-degree possession of controlled substances.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office and the Sauk Rapids Police Department K-9 assisted with this investigation.

Waite Park March 30

The task force completed several investigations with the arrest of two persons in Waite Park Wednesday, March 30. Investigators bought four ounces of cocaine and then arrested Kevin Struxness, age 26 with no permanent address, and Katie Rosenau, age 19 of St. Cloud. Purchases of cocaine had been made previously from Struxness and Rosenau, along with a purchase of MDMA from Rosenau.

A search warrant was then conducted at the residence of Rosenau at the address of 915 7th Street South, #1, in St. Cloud. Cocaine, MDMA, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were taken. This residence, where sales of controlled substances had taken place, is located across from the St. Cloud Tech High School.

Struxness will be charged with first degree controlled substance sales. Rosenau will be charged with first degree contyrolled substance sale, second degree controlled substance sale, enhanced because of the school zone violation, along with several possession crimes.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office and the Waite Park Police Department assisted with these investigations.

St. Cloud April 1

The task force completed a two-month investigation into the sales of methamphetamine with the arrest of Stephen Gagnon, age 30 with no permanent address. Investigators made multiple purchases of methamphetamine from Gagnon in the St. Cloud area. The North Central Task Force assisted with a controlled purchase and then made an arrest of Gagnon in Mille Lacs County. A 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle was seized. Gagnon faces several second degree controlled substance charges in Stearns County and a second degree sale, second degree possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia in Mille Lacs County.

The Central MN Drug and Gang Task Force is comprised of investigators from Stearns, Benton, Morrison, and Todd County Sheriffs' Offices, along with a metro officer from the cities of St. Joseph, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, and the Waite Park Police Department. The North Central Task Force covers the counties of Aitkin, Kanabec and Mille Lacs.
