It's Expo time again!

The Kimball Business & Community Expo will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. this Saturday, March 27, at Kimball Area High School (south entrance).

This is the perfect opportunity to come and check out some local businesses, mingle with your friends and neighbors, and get some ideas for your home, garden, summer plans, and much more. Support the local economy, and have some fun doing it.

Dozens of businesses and organizations from around the area will be there. Kimball and Fair Haven Lions Clubs, the Kimball Area Fire & Rescue Department, Kimball Area Historical Society, Kimball Community Playhouse, Friends of the Library, Kimball Area Farmers' Market, and the Kimball Area Schools will all have booths at the Expo. Come and see what they've been up to this past year, and what they've got planned for this year.

Several area churches will participate in the Expo, including Kimball United Methodist Church, St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball Church of Christ, and Lake Union Covenant Church.

Representatives for U.S. Senator Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Senator Michelle Fischbach and Minnesota Representative Larry Hosch also will be present. (This is an election year, so be sure to talk to them about any of your concerns or questions.)

We are blessed with wonderful recreational opportunities in our area. And recreation will be well represented at the Expo by Powder Ridge, Kimball Golf Club, Annandale Paint Ball, and the Kimball Rod & Gun Club. See what they've got in store for the coming seasons.

Now is a great time to think about updating your home, and there will be several businesses at the Expo that can help you: Young Brothers Construction, Backyard Reflections, Custom Doors, Your Home Repair, Granite Wright, John's Organic Worm Blend, Land O' Lakes Oil, Schultz Soft Water, Kim-Built Propane, Culligan of Buffalo, and Hendrickson Heating & Plumbing. Bring your questions and ideas, and they'll be happy to discuss options with you.

Health care and insurance will be represented by Lakeview Garden Enterprises (adult foster and day care), American Family Insurance, Meeker Memorial Hospital, Kimball Chiropractic, Heritage House of Kimball, and Thomes Insurance Group.

Media will be represented by KDUZ radio, KLFD radio, and the Tri-County News.

Other businesses will be in the Expo Saturday to discuss what they can do for you. Love-A-Lot Daycare, Tastefully Simple, Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce, Images by Marguerite, Watkins Vet Clinic, Gohmann's Foods, State Bank of Kimball, Firetrak, A M Maus & Son, Soap Box Laundromat and Pet Wash, Arnold's (Implement) of Kimball, Kimball Garage, MCP Collision, and Diva's Hair & Bodycare.

Of course, there will be plenty of drawings and giveaways. (Bring some address labels to make entering drawings even easier.)

There's also entertainment planned for the day. Little Miss Kimball and her court will make the rounds throughout the Expo. The group "Ääni Onnen" will perform at 11:30 in the Cafetorium. There will be a National Guard Obstacle Course for kids to play on. And the KES choir and dance class will perform. Performance times will be announced throughout the Expo.

The Expo is sponsored each year by the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. This year's co-sponsors are MCP Collision, Meeker Memorial Hospital, Love-A-Lot Daycare, American Family Insurance/Thomas Ehlinger, and Young Brothers Construction.
