Kimball traveled to Zimmerman to take on the Thunder last Thursday night in the first round of tournament play. Zimmerman jumped out to an early lead (9-2). The Cubs called time-out and then answered with a run of their own to cut the deficit to three. The Thunder then stretched the lead out, entering halftime with a 17-point cushion (33-16).
The Cubs, however, would not quit. A rally, late in the second half, cut the margin to 12 points with just over a minute to play. Kimball could get no closer, as they lost by a score of 57-45.
Dillon Menson paced the Cubs' scoring attack with 17 points and added twelve rebounds. Neil Helgeson tossed in 11 points and dished out six assists. Alex Fischer swatted away three shots and finished with six rebounds. The Cubs ended their season with a record of seven wins and 18 losses.
