Maine Prairie Township will hold a Public Hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Kimball Area Fire and Rescue Hall. The purpose of the hearing is to receive community input on the Comprehensive Plan, which has been prepared over the past year through a series of workshops and committee meetings. The Public Hearing is open to anyone with an interest in the plan or in the future of the township. More information and a copy of the plan can be found online at www.maineprairieplanning.com, or by calling Charles Marohn, Project Planner at (866) 900-3064.
A comprehensive plan guides the future growth, development and decision-making of a community. It answers three simple questions: What is the community like today? What does the community want to become? How is it going to get there? While these are simple questions, the answers are fre quently complex, with far-reaching implications for the future of the community.
The plan has been prepared with the assistance of Community Growth Institute, a planning organization that works exclusively with small towns. Project Planner Charles Marohn is a professional engineer licensed in Minnesota and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
