Vince Schaefer, Third District County Commissioner, has announced he will run for re-election this fall. Schaefer has served on the Stearns County Board of Commissioners for the past seven years, was chair of the board for one year, and is currently vice-chair. The Third District includes the Townships of Avon, Brockway, Precinct 1 of Collegeville, Eden Lake, Holding, Luxemburg, Maine Prairie, Munson, and Wakefield; and the Cities of Avon, Cold Spring, Eden Valley, Holdingford, Kimball, Richmond, Rockville, and St. Stephen.
For 2010 appointments, he serves on 26 county, regional, and state committees as part of his position, in addition to the county board meetings. His past experience both in business and government has been a great asset to the many issues Stearns County has had to deal with in the past few years.
Schaefer commented, "I have tried hard to keep in touch with the residents of the Third District and all of Stearns County, so I can be informed on the issues of the day. I look forward to seeing the people of the Third District throughout the next four years and will continue to work hard to meet their needs."
Vince encourages people to contact him on any issues they are having with Stearns County. Schaefer further commented, "Oftentimes, it's a matter of connecting the dots between the residents and the county staff to resolve an issue. I will continue working hard to represent county residents."
