Year 2009 in Review - October

KES students celebrated Grandparents' Day Oct. 9. Grandparents visited in classrooms, checked out projects and artwork, enjoyed treats and even a performance or two by students.

The KHS class of 1962 held a class reunion Oct. 10 at Triple R Grill and Bar.

Central Minnesota residents were surprised by two days of early snow Oct. 11-12.

Oct. 15, Susie and Scott O'Konek of South Haven bagged a state-record deer at Camp Ripley: 32 points.

Standing brooms at Triple R Grill & Bar was part of a sensation sweeping the region. Thought to be associated with the autumnal equinox, it turns out that the brooms will stand any time of year if properly balanced.

Holy Cross parish held their 46th annual (and famous) fish fry Oct. 30.

The 4Paws Pet Wash opened in October in the back area of Soapbox Laundromat on Main Street in Kimball.
