South Haven held its 71st annual fish fry April 3.

Wright County Swappers Meet opened April 4, a true sign of spring.

Kimball Lions held a Food Shelf Scavenger Hunt April 4; they collected 717 pounds of food, and $160 in cash for the Kimball Area Food Shelf.

Kimball Firemen's 32nd annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast was April 5. A record 1,282 breakfasts were served. Proceeds would purchase a second thermal-imaging camera.

The first Easter egg hunt was held in Kimball April 5 in Willow Creek Park.

Kimball's Rick Ellis began his "Mr. Potato Head" column April 9; it would run throughout the gardening season.

Hilltop Care Center in Watkins held its 7th annual Easter egg hunt April 11.

Kimball Express (baseball) held its third annual beanbag tournament fundraiser April 11. Adam and Brett Magnuson were the champions.

Rose Borman helped fifth-graders at KES plant seeds that would later be planted in the Kimball Community Garden (on the Bormans' farm).

Kimball's Ducks Unlimited chapter held its second annual Sportsmen's Night Out April 17.

Kimball librarian Carla Asfeld was appointed to be branch manager of the Annandale Area Public Library as well. She would split her time between the two libraries.

Maine Prairie Township held an open house April 23 to begin its future planning process.

A late-night fire April 23 destroyed a milk parlor/hay barn and silo at Kingston Creek Dairy, owned and operated by the Albert Holker family.

The Kimball class of 1969 held its 40th class reunion April 25 at Triple R Bar & Grill in Kimball.

KAHS seniors KTlynn Smallwood, Bridget Gohmann, Kendra Albers, and Andrew Dingmann were recognized as Students of Excellence at the annual banquet at the St. Cloud Civic Center.
