Jerome "Buddy" Kiehn of Annandale died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at the Annandale Care Center. He was 70.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow the funeral at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale.
Jerome John "Buddy" Kiehn was born Feb. 23, 1939, to John Christian and Ethel Violet (Erickson) Kiehn on his family's farm in Southside Township. He was a 1957 graduate of Annandale High School. He married Beverly Ann Dubs July 1, 1972. She died June 19, 2006.
Agriculture was his love and he farmed in the Annandale area his entire life. Buddy was a member of the Forest City Threshers and St. John's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his toy tractor collection, antique tractors, watching basketball, NASCAR, and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly.
Buddy is survived by his two children Bruce (and Joyce) Kiehn of Litchfield, and Becky (and Tony) Boyce of Hugo; brother-in-law Dennis (and Gail) Dubs of Harrisburg, Pa.; three grandchildren Katlyn and John Kiehn, and Lyndee Boyce.
Pallbearers will be Dub Ferrell, Jim Hallstrom, Don Daniels, Jim Fiedler, Dave Manke, Tom Segner, and Melvin Alama. Music for the service will be provided by Mark and Ardis Nelson and Orma Lou Jacobsma. The grandchildren will provide a special tribute and Mary Lovold will read scripture.
