Governor Tim Pawlenty, Oct. 16, has appointed Louis Lenzmeier among the 12 new members to the 25-member Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities.
The Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (MGCDD) assists persons with developmental disabilities to achieve increased independence, productivity, self-determination, integration and inclusion into the community.
Lenzmeier is the son of Carol and the late M.H. Lenzmeier of Kimball. He is the legal guardian of his 47-year-old brother Robert, and is a volunteer for disabled persons.
Lenzmeier replaces Sharyl Downwind as a parent or guardian of a person with developmental disabilities on the MGCDD to complete a three-year term that expires Jan. 3, 2011.
Louis, now a resident of Plymouth, is the director of marketing for MDI Achieve of Eden Prairie.
Lenzmeier, now 35, played football for and graduated from Kimball Area High School and is a graduate of St. Cloud State University.
