Two-car crash results in death, serious injury

Friday afternoon, Dec. 4, at about 4:15 p.m., two cars collided at the intersection of 642nd Avenue and 365th Street in Forest Prairie Township. Andrew John Glimsdal, 23 of Kimball, was driving a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee heading east on 365th Street; he drove through a yield sign, failing to yield, and struck a 1996 Saturn SL 4-door sedan driven by Justin Allen Shoutz, 23 of rural Watkins. Shoutz was driving northbound on 642nd Avenue.

Justin Shoutz was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Brandon Scott Shoutz, 18 of rural Watkins, was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital with what the Meeker County Sheriff's Office called serious injuries; as of Sunday, he was listed in fair condition. Glimsdal was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital and released.

Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Watkins Amblance, Watkins Fire and Rescue, Gold Cross Ambulance, Meeker County Coroner, Minnesota State Patrol, and Life Link Helicopter all responded to the incident.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the crash.
