Dryland sled-dog racing Nov. 15

Local mushers place in competition

The International Sled Dog Racing Association (ISDRA) held a competition Nov. 15 in Clearwater. The event was the East Meets West Dryland Championships.

Local musher Derrick Frank of Kimball took fifth place in the Adult 1-Dog Speed class in the Bikejoring race. Frank finished the 3.2-mile course with a total time of 00:09:51 (hours, minutes, seconds).

Monica Jendro of Kimball took ninth place in the Adult 4-Dog Speed class with 5.8 miles, total time of 00:21:46. She also placed 13th in the Adult 6-Dog Speed class, which was 5.8 miles with a total time of 00:27:03.

The East Meets West Dryland Championships were sanctioned by the International Sled Dog Racing Association and count towards the International Championship Series for Sled Dog Racing.
