SPECIAL MEETING Board of Education November 4, 2009 Ind. School District 739 Kimball, MN

The meeting was called to order by Chair Helgeson at 7:01 p.m. with all members except Peglow present.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance.

The purpose of this special meeting was to canvass the results from the November 3rd Election of school board members and operating levy referendum. Motion by Laabs, seconded by Dockery to adopt the Resolution Canvassing Returns of Votes of School District General Election. Tom Schreiner received 617 votes, Jody Gagnon received 606 votes, and Doug Stenger received 602 votes. Upon roll call vote being taken, members Stenger, Dockery, Helgeson, Laabs and Zipoy voted in favor. No members voted against. Motion carried.

Motion by Laabs, seconded by Zipoy to adopt the Resolution Canvassing Returns of Votes of School District Special Election. There were 492 yes votes and 519 no votes. Having not received the approval of at least a majority of votes, the referendum failed. Upon roll call vote being taken, members Zipoy, Laabs, Helgeson, Dockery and Stenger voted in favor. No members voted against.

Discussion followed regarding next steps to be taken and where the District goes from here.

Motion by Laabs, seconded by Stenger to adjourn at 7:36 p.m.
