The city of Waite Park, Stearns County and the St. Cloud Area Planning Organization will jointly host a public meeting to present the preliminary findings and next steps associated with the 10th Avenue/2nd Avenue Scoping Study, as noted below:
10th Avenue/2nd Avenue Scoping Study
Date: Thursday, Nov. 12
Location: Waite Park City Hall, lower level
Address: 19-13th Avenue North, Waite Park, MN 56387
Time: 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to recap project progress thus far and highlight the most feasible corridor alignments (including a no-build option) while noting environmental, social, economic, and transportation issues associated with these alternatives that should be further evaluated in the environmental impact statement (EIS) phase (not part of this project). Please recall that the scoping study does not select a preferred alignment. The goal of the scoping process is to identify a range of alternatives, document the project's purpose and need, and identify issues to be addressed in the EIS.
The public is invited to attend and participate in the open house-style public meeting. Citizens are encouraged to provide input to the study team and its consultant. In addition to the open house-style public meeting, a presentation will be given at 6 p.m., after which the study team and the consultant will be available for one-on-one discussions with interested persons regarding particular concerns or opportunities. The information gathered at this meeting will be used in finalizing the alternatives to be carried forward into preparing scoping documents. For more information on the study, visit the city of Waite Park Web site at www.waitepark.org.
For those unable to attend the meeting, written comments may be submitted by Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, to:
