The St. Cloud VA Medical Center's Women Veterans Program will host the Second Annual "Balance for Busy Women," a women veterans health and wellness day from 6-8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. The event will take place at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center's Building 48, Room 124 Note: This event had previously been scheduled for Building 96, but has been moved to the new Building 48 location. Those attending should park behind Building 48 at the back of the Medical Center.
The event will feature a keynote address by VA dietitian Brian Vetter on "The Fab Five: Fruits, Foliage, Fats, Fiber and Females." VA Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Coordinator, Rich Schwegel MBA, RD, will also present on Women, Heart Health & Exercise. Participants will have the opportunity to be involved in a Yoga demonstration by Registered Yoga Instructor Cardiac Yoga, Tracy Sharp, RN.
All women veterans are encouraged to attend but attendance is limited to the first 50 participants who register. There is a $5 participation fee. The event is sponsored in part by the Disabled American Veterans. Women Veterans may call (320) 252-1670, ext. 6371 for additional information.
