Dominic Albers of South Haven died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, surrounded by his family. He was 15.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Luxemburg with Reverend Marvin Enneking officiating. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church in Luxemburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Dominic J. Albers was born Oct. 4, 1993, in St. Cloud to Randy and Kathy (Salzer) Albers. He attended St. Wendelin's Catholic School from preschool through the third grade. After moving in 2002, he attended the Kimball Elementary School and Kimball Area High School.
Dominic was involved in Knowledge Bowl and was on the A Honor Roll throughout his elementary and high school years.
He was an avid baseball fan (especially the Twins) and enjoyed collecting baseball cards and following the stats throughout the league. Dominic also enjoyed playing video games; if he wasn't following baseball, he was playing video games.
Dominic is survived by his parents; sister Kendra; grandparents Ken and Hermie Albers of Luxemburg, Richard and Pat Salzer of Sartell; aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the family dog Shadow.
