Husky Wood Bat Fall League offered

The second annual Husky Wood Bat Fall League, which is the first fall wood bat league of its kind in the St. Cloud area, will begin Saturday, Aug. 29. The league will emphasize the fundamentals of the game and it is designed to help players in grades 7-12 improve their skills and gain more baseball-playing experience.

The league will offer three separate leagues (Minor League for players entering 7th and 8th grades, Mid-Major League for players entering 9th and 10th grades, and Major League for players entering 11th and 12th grade. Each team in the league will play eight games between Aug. 29 and Sept. 28, at selected locations throughout Central Minnesota. Game times will be during the mornings and afternoons.

Additionally, a special Wednesday evening EXTRA INNING LEAGUE will begin Wednesday, Sept. 9. A total of 14 games will be played in both leagues.

Last year, more than 300 players across the state competed in the Husky Wood Bat Fall League.

All teams will be limited to just 11-13 players, so everyone is guaranteed plenty of playing time - and an opportunity to play at various positions. Game T-shirt jerseys will be provided for each participant in the league.

The cost for the Saturday fall league is $125 per person and the Wednesday night league is only $50.

Participants may also enter the fall league as an organized team and receive another group discount.
