Genevieve Rothstein of St. Cloud died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at St. Benedict's Senior Community in St. Cloud, with her family at her side. She was 87.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Friday, Aug. 7, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue after 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.
Genevieve E. Rothstein was born Jan. 22, 1922, in St. Martin to John and Elizabeth (Fischbach) Orbeck. She married Leander Rothstein Oct. 4, 1943, in Spring Hill, Minn. They raised 12 children on a farm near Pearl Lake.
Genevieve was active with many organizations throughout the community and was a member of St. Augustine's Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leander April 21, 2006; parents; two infant children, great-granddaughter Charlotte Louis; sisters Alvina Schaefer, and Frances Rothstein; and brothers John, Joseph and Clarence.
Genevieve is survived by her children: Dorothy (and Harry) Molumby of South San Francisco, Calif., John (and Sandy) of New Hope, Luella (and Leo) Louis of Paynesville, Marvin (and Connie) of Staples, Robert of Kimball, David (and Yvonne) of Sauk Rapids, Susan (and Larry) Linnemeyer of Cambridge, Arthur (and Donna) of Clearwater, Lawrence (and Vicki) of Moundsview, Jane (and Millard) Hickman of Litchfield, Teresa (and Joe) Borgstrom of Buffalo, and MaryAnn (and Steve) Edwards of Kimball; 32 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
