An Old-Timers and Old Friends gathering took place Saturday, July 25, at Willow Creek Park in Kimball. Pictured are (back row, left to right) Ben Lutgen, Bev Adolph, Glen Rumsey, Jerry Rice, Rod Robinson, Joann Hendricks, Neil Hilary, Sally Hilary, Peg Dahnke, Martha Arens, Mary Ann McKenzie, Mary Johnson, and Bob Adolph; (middle row) Delores Rice, Alice Robinson, Jane Pickle, Ann Hamilton, Dorothy Jensen, Jeanette Sollitt, Addie Vincent, Shelva Steman, Audrey Marquardt, Susie Sansom McKenzie, and Arlene Deuermeyer; (front row, seated) Janis Rice, Gene Rice, Orville Yerks, Marguerite McKenzie, Hollis McKenzie, Darby Curtis, and Dar Deuermeyer. (Seated in front is George Matua.) Not pictured are Luvern Hinz, who at 94 is reported to be the oldest in attendance, his daughter Nancy Thomas, and his granddaughter and great-grandson, Elizabeth Thomas Gibson and Eric Gibson, who came the farthest, from Jupiter, Florida. A few of the "regulars" have passed on, and a few others couldn't attend this year because of illness. The get-together is held each summer, with notices put in the Tri-County News, and everyone is invited to attend, regardless of age or how long they've been in Kimball (or away from Kimball).
