The city of Kimball will participate in National Night Out, Aug. 4, 2009. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs; stengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized against crime. National Night Out has proven over the last 24 years to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood and police community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Plus, the benefits your community will derive from National Night Out will most certainly extend well behond the one night.

Everyone is encouraged to attend this evening of rootbeer floats, fun and visiting with your fellow residents and be informed about how you can help fight drugs and crime in your town. We are also asking that the residents turn their porch lights on from 8 to 10 p.m., alerting everyone that we are a community against crime and drugs.
