This fall, Heritage House of Kimball will break ground on an expansion project that will include adding 25 assisted living apartments. Building onto the current facility that houses 18 residents, space is also planned for a community-use room, a spa/therapy room, a beauty salon, and a covered, drive-through entry area. At one end of the two-story structure will be a 2,700 square foot space for a clinic and pharmacy. There has been discussion with several possible clinics and pharmacies but no one has yet signed on to occupy the space. Such a clinic and pharmacy would be open to the public, not just Heritage House residents. The clinic would be in the corner of the complex nearest the entrance which will be much closer to Highway 15. Assisted living is an increasingly popular alternative to full nursing care, and the Heritage House owners have a good deal of experience with their several assisted living facilities in Minnesota. Architectural plans are available for viewing at Kimball City Hall; the architect is Trossen Wright Plutowski of Minneapolis.
