Jon Albert named Senior Pastor at Church of Christ

The Church of Christ of Kimball is proud to announce Jon Albert as their Senior Pastor. Jon is a graduate of Kimball Area High School, and has lived here most of his life.

Through high school, Jon enjoyed several activities and sports and after graduation, he went on to a double-major in Bible and Youth Ministry at Northwestern College in the Twin Cities. Jon also served as a Youth Pastor in our congregation along with serving as the leadership development coordinator for the Kimball area school district; he also coached basketball and football. Jon began teaching Bible at St. Cloud Christian School in 2004, and served in some administrative areas.

The first Sunday of May 2009, Jon was affirmed as the Senior Pastor by the congregation. Jon recently wrote this article to the congregation and it represents his heartbeat in a very clear way.

"God has great plans for this congregation. He has given us the clear call to love Him, love others, and serve. This is what we will do.

"There are many things that I enjoy in this life (marriage, my family, sports, fishing, hunting, camping, a good fire, a fresh cup of coffee, etc.), but my passion is Jesus. My life is committed to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. I believe the promise of Matthew 6:33. Here Jesus tells me that if I seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, then I will be fully provided for. God, Himself, will provide for my needs. He has freed me from the vain, fruitless, and meaningless pursuits of the world so that I can claim real life as He intended His creation to live.

"I praise God that the work He has for me and my family includes you. It is the delight of my heart to see sinners saved and the Saints united in love. As your pastor, I am committed to loving my wife as Christ loved the church, training my children in the fear of the Lord, doing my part to encourage and equip you to live abundantly in Christ, and save the lost.

"There are many adventures ahead of us as we fight for the truth. Some of them will be glorious celebrations of victory and others will be great struggles. We will bring praise to God together in them all.

"This summer Kathleen and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and we are blessed with three wonderful children (Miranda - 12, Monte - 10, Melodie - 5). We are excited to be a part of your life. You are welcome and invited to worship with us any Sunday. Our worship services are 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning."
