Mary "Ann" Ashwill of Kimball died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Birchwood Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was 86. Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Church of Christ in Kimball, with Pastors Jon Albert and Steve Rowland officiating. Interment was at the Kimball Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to services at the church. Mary Annabelle Ashwill was born April 25, 1922, at Kimball to Bernhard and Martha (Duncan) Struck. She married Richard N. Ashwill June 3, 1940, in Darwin, and he preceded her in death March 28, 1996. She lived most of her life in Kimball, living in California from 1968 to 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kimball Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, daughter-in-law Sandy, granddaughters Kathleen Ashwill and Melanie Shuneson, one sister, and two brothers. Mary is survived by her seven children: Richard (and Carmel) of San Marcos, Calif., Diana (and Richard) Shuneson of Oceanside, Calif., Thomas (and Sheri) of Cokato, Larry (and Renae) of Hutchinson, James (and Alice) of Monticello, Dale of Cokato, Greg (and Patti) of Little Falls; sister Dorothy (and Henry) Ott of Watkins; brother Leonard (and Alpha) Struck of Zimmerman; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Joyce Albert and Janet Eckman provided the music for the service, and the arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
