James Cleveland of SouthHaven died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 73. Memorial services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and at the church one hour prior to services. James Franklin Cleveland was born May 28, 1935, to Arthur and Elsie (Boggs) Cleveland in Southside Township, Wright County, where he lived his entire life. He was a 1953 graduate of Annandale High School. He married Karen "Susie" Nyren Nov. 9, 1957. Jim was a truck driver and former member of the South Haven Sportsman's Club and Fair Haven Lions Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, hunt and garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Laney, brother Gayle Cleveland, and sister Mary Jane Gutknecht. Jim is survived by his wife Karen "Susie" of South Haven; children Deborah Jurgens of South Haven, Diane Cleveland of South Haven, Doris (and Todd) Korsmo of South Haven, Jason (and Janet) Cleveland of Kimball; brother William Cleveland of South Haven; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
