Family-friendly New Year's Eve party in Kimball

A coalition of community leaders in Kimball is planning a new and exciting event for families. This FREE event, the Family Jam New Year's Eve Party, will be held at Kimball Area High School. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. and will run until 12:30 a.m. Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult. Though there is no cost whatsover to attend this event, you are encouraged to bring an item for our local food shelf. The goal of this event is to provide a family-friendly alternative to traditional New Year's Eve parties. There will be many options for families to choose from during the evening: movies (Kung Fu Panda, Wall-E, Prince Caspian), dodgeball, basketball, volleyball, Wii games (on the big screen in the cafetorium), board games (including a Yahtzee tournament), bingo, pre-school play area, and even some karaoke. As if all this isn't enough, there will be FREE pizza, pop, popcorn and juice. Of course, New Year's Eve wouldn't be complete without a ball drop. Since the televised Times Square drop happens at 11 p.m.Central Time, we will hold a live ball drop of our own in the cafetorium. Actually, there are two ball drops scheduled, one at 10 p.m. for families with younger children who may not be able to stay awake 'til midnight, and the other at the stroke of Midnight. At both drops, a special "toast" will take place. If you need further information about this event, please contact Heather Klason (320) 290-7460, Steve Rowland (320) 250-9771, Fr.
