Harold Hamilton, 72

Harold Hamilton of Eden Valley died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 22, at the Church of God in Eden Valley with Rev. Daniel Smead officiating. Burial was at the Eden Lake Cemetery in Eden Valley. Harold W. Hamilton was born May 9, 1936, in Cold Spring, Minn. to Howard and Shala (Hoskins) Hamilton. He married Violet Hickman Sept. 17, 1957, in New London. They resided in Eden Valley until 1962, when they moved to Yakima, Wash., where they lived for 11 years. They then moved to live in Kimball for seven years before moving to Casa Grande, Ariz. where they lived for 13 years. In 1991, they moved back to Eden Valley. Harold was employed as a carpenter and built houses until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Church of God in Eden Valley. His hobbies included working on old cars, and he enjoyed listening to music and stories on tape. Harold was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Violet of Eden Valley; children Morgan Hamilton (and friend Bonnie) of Eden Valley, Westley (and Mary) Hamilton of Eden Valley, Ronald (and Bonnie) Hamilton of Chandler, Ariz., Wade (and Dianna) Hamilton of Neosha, Mo.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother Douglas Hamilton of Dallas, Texas, and sister Ellen (and Dennis) Allison of Mexico. Music was by Kris Shelton and Darlene Thyen. Casket bearers were Scott Hickman, Warren Hickman, Dale Weber, Brent Hamilton, Randy Shelton, and Randy Shelton, Jr. Arrangements were by the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
