C-squad volleyball

Our second match of the season was against the Pierz Pioneers, a conference powerhouse for volleyball. However, our C-squad began their match by winning game one 25-17. We worked hard and kept "pushing points" against the Pioneers to earn the victory. Unfortunately, games two and three were not as successful as we lost 15-25 and 6-15 and consequently lost the match. We continue to have success in running our offense by setting the ball 10 or more times and getting several kills. We are also becoming better at blocking and love it when we "stuff" it back at our opponents. Serving is our strength and once again we served 82 percent as a team with several individuals doing outstanding jobs at 83, 91 and 100 percent serving. One team member also had six ace serves. Way to go Cubs! Our next match is Thursday for Homecoming against the Maple Lake Irish. Go Cubs! Kim Pelzer, coach
