Sunday, Aug. 31 (2:48 p.m.) - Michael F. Holmquist, 62 of Kimball, was driving his blue 1973 Yamaha 650 CC motorcycle north on CR 146, .3 of a mile north of 190th Street in Maine Prairie Township when he lost control after navigating a 90-degree right turn. He went off the road to the right and vaulted off a field approach. He and his passenger, 37-year-old Erin A. Larson of Kimball, were thrown off the motorcycle into the corn field. Neither were wearing protective clothing or helmets. Larson was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital by LifeLink Helicopter. Holmquist was transported to the
St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulace. No other vehicles were involved. Assisting at the accident scene were several Stearns County officers, Minn. State Patrol and Kimball Fire and Rescue. The accident is under investigation. Sunday, Aug. 31 (8:21 p.m.) - Stearns County Sheriff's deputies reponded to a one-vehicle rollover with injuries on CR 10 approximately 2 miles north of
St. Martin. A 1997 white Chevrolet K2500 pickup, owned and driven by Christopher J. Sogge, 26 of Paynesville, was traveling northbound on CR 10 when it left the roadway, entered the east ditch, struck a field approach and rolled. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle. Also injured was the restrained passenger, Jack A. Oeltjebruns, 19 of New London. Both were transported by Melrose Ambulance to the Albany Hospital. Sogge was then transported to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment by LifeLink Helicopter. Oeltjenbruns was treated at the Albany Hospital. The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by St. Martin Rescue Squad. The accident remains under investigation. Monday, Sept. 1 (3:50 a.m.) - Stearns County Sheriff's Office responded to a one-vehicle rollover with injuries on CR 4, just went of CR2, St. Wendel Township. A 1998 white Dodge Ram truck, owned and operated by Russell D. Kremers, 26 of Avon, was damaged when the truck entered the north ditchm, crossed the two-lane road, etered the south ditch and rolled. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle. The restrained passenger, Sarah A. Schoephoerster, 20 of St. Cloud, was also injured. Both were transported to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance. The sheriff's department was assisted at the scene by St. Stephen Rescue Squad. The accident remains under investigation.
