Elaine Arnold of Watkins died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the
St. Cloud Hospital following a short battle with cancer.
She was 62. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with Rev. John Brunner officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Elaine Arnold was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Marshall, Minn., to Emil and Veronica (Thomas) Kack. She married Ronald "Rooster" Arnold Sept. 21, 1968, in Canby, Minn. They made their home in Watkins.
Elaine worked at Farmers State Bank in Watkins for several years. She also worked at Fingerhut in
St. Cloud for 12 years, and then Modern Quilters in Litchfield. She also worked in the billing department of Kramer Electric in Watkins, and she was the bookkeeper for the Watkins Lions Club. Elaine was a member of the
St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins and of the Watkins Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, fishing, traveling, and camping. She enjoyed sports and was an avid fan. Most of all, though, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Rooster" on March 25, 1995; grand-
daughter Ryley Marie Arnold on Jan. 24, 2007; and brother Thomas Kack. She is survived by her children Mike (and Leah) Arnold of Watkins, Pat (and Leslie) Arnold of Kimball, Kelly Arnold of Watkins, Casey (and Sarah) Arnold of Rochester, Heidi (and Joe) Manuel of Watkins; grandchildren, Hallie, Ronnie, Andrew and Cooper
Arnold; special friend Jerry Klein of Watkins; brothers and sisters Linda (and Gene) VanDyke of Gary, S.D., Molly Hanken (and
fiancé Tom LaTour) of Buffalo, Jr. (and Mary Ann) Kack of Marshall, Bob (and Cheryl) Kack of Canby, Dennis (and Jackie) Kack of Salina, Kans.; many nieces and nephews. Music was provided by Kathy Pauls. Casketbearers were Ronnie Kramer, Marty Kramer, Craig
Arnold, Josh VanDyke, Danny
Hanken and Austin Kack. Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
