1,100 come out to help Kimball third-grader

A pancake breakfast benefit was held Sunday, Aug. 3, along with a silent auction at St. Mary's Help of Christians Church in St. Augusta for Shawn Laudenbach. Shawn was diagnosed with adrenocortical carcinoma in February. He will be a third-grader at Kimball Elementary School next month. The benefit was organized to raise money for Shawn's family to help with expenses ahead of them for chemotherapy, transportation, and other treatments. More than 1,100 enjoyed a pancake breakfast - and helping Shawn and his family. The family was amazed at the overwhelming generosity and love that was shown by everyone, from the donations, helpfulness of friends and parishioners, to the amazing community attendance at the benefit. The family of Shawn Laudenbach cannot express in words how much gratitude and appreciation they have for everyone who helped and supported them with the benefit. "Thank you" and "Bless you" will have to suffice.
