The Central Minnesota Council on Aging is now offering monthly educational sessions for people who will be enrolling in Medicare and for anyone interested in learning more about Medicare. The "New to Medicare" class is being offered at the Whitney Senior Center, St. Cloud, at no charge. During the two-hour session, Senior Advocates and trained volunteers provide an overview of the Medicare system including enrollment, coverage, supplemental insurance, Medicare Advantage plans and Part D. By attending the training, beneficiaries will learn about options for health and prescription coverage available in Minnesota and be better informed to make their own decisions. Dates of upcoming classes are: June 10, 3-5 p.m.; June 17, 6-8 p.m.; July 8, 3-5 p.m.; Aug. 12, 3-5 p.m.; and Aug. 19, 6-8 p.m. The Senior LinKAge Line is a non-profit agency funded by the Older Americans Act, the MN Board on Aging and the local United Way. The agency does not market any insurance product, but provides non-biased information for the consumer. For more information or to register for a class, call (800) 333-2433.
