Fair Haven Old Settler's picnic

The Fair Haven Old Settler's picnic committee has been busy planning the day's events Saturday, June 28. It's a great time for your family to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy this day visiting friends, young and old alike. Mark your calendar and join us the last Saturday in June. Activities start at 10 a.m. with the parade - anyone wanting to participate is asked to be at Concordia Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. (no registration fee). At 11 a.m., the children's tractor pull for ages 4-11 will begin (no registration fee). Car and tractor show, Fair Haven lion's beef feed, entertainment from the Maple Lake Jazz Band, concessions stands from non-profit organizations: please contact Brenda or Kayla Newman to reserve your spot - call (320) 236-7491. New activities this year include a three-legged race (teams of two), egg toss (teams of two), wheelbarrow race (teams of two) and tug-of-war (teams of 10). Other events will be men's and women's arm wrestling and watermelon eating contest (sign up that day). Concordia Lutheran Church will be holding a hotdog eating contest (who can eat the most hotdogs in two minutes). First 10 people to register; anyone under 18 years of age will need a parent's consent. There will be a $5 registration fee (to register, call Heidi at (320) 236-5111). We will again have a program along with a basket auction. Queen candidates will be putting together baskets of homemade treats to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Many more activities throughout the day are planned - watch for a full schedule in the upcoming weeks.
