Relay For Life is under way. And that means that people right here in Meeker County are busy making plans for this year's American Cancer Society Relay For Life®. The Relay for Life Committee has already been meeting for many months, and right now people are forming teams, raising funds, and spreading the word about this incredible event. This year's event is on Friday, June 20. Relay starts at noon and ends at midnight at the Litchfield High School Track. This is a change from last year. Opening ceremonies are at 7 p.m. As a new addition to this year's events, there will be a YOUTH ZONE full of fun and entertaining activities for youth to enjoy. Other entertainment for the evening, just to name a few, includes The Litchfield Marching Band, Crow River Area Youth Orchestra and guest vocalists Ryan Rice and Ashley Lindeman. Cancer affects millions of people across the globe and many people right here in our community. By being a part of Relay For Life, you along with your community have an opportunity to celebrate with survivors, remember the people we've lost to cancer, and fight back against this disease. We will be joining millions of others to support the American Cancer Society and the lifesaving mission of eliminating cancer as a major health issue. In addition, we'll be helping fund the important services that the American Cancer Society provides right here in our own community.
