Cubs baseball team update

Take two from Huskers The Cubs baseball team hosted fellow CMC team Holdingford for a double-header. In the first game Kimball sent Junior Bobby Arens to the mound. He was able to go the distance again and earned his second win of the season. The game was highlighted by a solo homerun by junior center fielder Ben Knaus. Kimball won the first game 7-5. In the second game, junior Tommy Linn went to the hill and like Arens pitch a complete game. Linn only gave up three hits in the complete game win for the Cubs. To highlight the second game junior Tyler Gregory push junior Tom Winklman over to second on a nice SAC Bunt. Senior Scott Stenger then came up and hit a hard shot to short that crept through the shortstop to allow Winklemann to score from second and give the Cubs the win with a score of 5-4. Split double-header After playing a double-header on Monday, the Kimball Cubs baseball team traveled to Eden Valley-Watkins the next day to play a double header with the Eagles. Eden Valley-Watkins came out ahead in the first game, but Kimball would take the night cap game to earn a split. In the first game EV-W came out hitting the ball hard, Kimball would jump out to a 2-0 lead but the Eagles soon pulled ahead with a six-run third to give them the win. In the second game Kimball would again pull out to a 2-0 lead and again Eden Valley-Watkins would battle back, but Kimball went into the bottom of the sixth and brought three runners across to score. Kimball then sent out Junior Tommy Linn to shut the door on EV-W and Linn set down the Eagles 1,2,3 in the top of the seventh. Game 1: Kimball 4 - EV-W 9. Kimball Hitters:Tommy Linn 1-2 run RBI, Ben Knaus 1-3, Tom Winlkemann 2-4 DBL 2RBI. Game 2: Kimball 11 - EV-W 8 Kimball hitters: Ben Knaus 2-3 RBI Run SB, Kurt Kuechle 3-4 2Runs RBI, Andy Dingmann 2-4 2Runs RBI SB, Scott Stenger 2-3 SB DBL Run, Burke Tagney 2-3, Karl Hunt 1-2 2Runs, Tommy Linn 1-1 2runs DBL. Kimball record: 4-2 CMC, 4-2 overall. Loss for Cubs Conference leading BBE came to Kimball for a CMC game and proved why they are on top. Kimball pitchers only allowed 6 hits, but 3 walks and 4 Hit Batters with runners on base led to BBE jumping out to a 10-0 win. BBE pitcher (Jordan Beier) only allowed 3 hits over 6 innings and walked 2 in the shutout victory. The Cubs were never able to put hits together and had there lowest hit total and run production of the season.
