Kimball JV baseball

Heartbreaker in 12 The Kimball JV baseball team hosted Eden Valley-Watkins last Tuesday in a game that lasted 12 innings. The Cubs jumped on top, leading 3-0 after three innings. They added three more runs in the third and led 6-1 after five innings. The Eagles scored five runs in their last two at bats to send the game to extra innings. Both teams had their chances and the Eagles finally prevailed with two runs in the 12th and went on to win 8-6. The Cubs received outstanding pitching performances from David Joseph and Dillon Menson. David pitched seven strong innings, striking out five hitters and walking just one. He gave up seven hits and six runs, none of which were earned. Dillon pitched five innings, striking out four and walking none. He allowed two runs, both unearned. At the plate Brett Ostby, Tyler Loch, Mitch Pramann, and David Joseph each had two hits. Pete Frank also collected a hit. Tyler Loch and Dillon Menson each scored two runs and Pete Frank and David Joseph each had two RBI. Jaguars defeat Cubs Last Thursday Kimball took on Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. The Cubs again started out well, scoring five runs in the first two innings and led 5-2 after two. However, that was all the offense they could generate in dropping a 10-5 decision to the Jaguars.  Brett Ostby started on the hill for the Cubs and pitched very well. Brett threw four innings, striking out four and walking only one. He allowed nine hits and seven runs, four of them being earned. Danny Jenson finished up going three innings. He struck out three and walked one batter. Danny gave up three runs, one of which was earned. On the offensive side David Joseph and Brett Ostby had two hits each and Danny Jenson had one hit. Tyler Loch had two steals and David Joseph had two of the three runs batted in for the Cubs. The Cubs are now 0-4 on the season. Next week they have a full schedule facing Osakis, Maple Lake, Pierz and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. Jay Klein, coach
