Scholarship St. Cloud State University student ekaterina Dunaeva Steinmetz has received the 2008 Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing Building Hope Scholarhip in recognition of her commitment to giving through volunteerism while a student. She was recognized at the Excellence in Leadership Award Banquet April 20. Steinmetz is married to John Steinmetz, whose parents are John and Sandy Steinmetz of Kimball. She is majoring in international relations. Graduates Six hundred and fourteen bachelor's, master's and associate degree candidates are scheduled to graduate May 10 from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. A total of 330 will participate in the 40th commencement exercises, which start at 10 a.m. in the Recreation/Athletic Facility on campus.  Area students receiving degrees are: Brandon Tilus, South Haven, B.S. in marketing; Jason Bruns and Kelly A. Kobernusz of Holdingford and Melissa Winter of Watkins MS in Education; Amanda Opatz, Annandale, B.S. in Physical Education; Jennifer Schefers, Kimball, B.A. in History; Michael VanDrehle, Melrose, B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing; Brandon Robert Welle, Melrose, B.S. in Physical Education/Teaching/Health Education; Jaclyn Messer, South Haven, B.S. in Computer Science); Grant Tilus, South Haven, B.S. in Marketing; and Erich Deutsch, Watkins, B.S. in Accounting.
