Kimball Cubs Baseball hosted fellow CMC team Rockford for the Cubs second game of the season. Rockford came into the game with a record of 3-2 overall and the experience at the plate this young season showed. Rockford recorded 17 hits, five of which were for extra bases, including a three-run homerun by first baseman Justin Popovich to blow the game open. Rockford hit everything Kimball pitchers threw, they mixed in line drives, bloops and solid base hits to give them the win. Kimball never got anything started at the plate, only recording four hits and having nine strikeouts for the day. Junior lead off hitter, Tommy Linn went 1-2 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a double to lead off the game. Ben Knaus, Kurt Keuchle and Burke Tagney also went 1-2 in the game for the Cubs.
