Nighttime maintenance work begins April 20 on Highway 23 in St. Cloud/Waite Park and runs until May 1. The area having work done is westbound and eastbound Highway 23 between Highway 10 in St. Cloud to the west city limits of Waite Park in Benton and Stearns counties. Work will be done each week night from 8:30 p.m.-7 a.m. - Sunday evening, April 20, to Thursday morning, April 24, and Sunday evening, April 27, to Thursday morning, May 1, weather permitting. Motorists will encounter intermittent single lane traffic. Drivers are urged to use extra caution, especially during nighttime hours when sight distances may be lessened. Slow down and pay attention for signs, lane shifts and workers in the work zone. This is preventative maintenance, with crews patching potholes, sealing cracks and sweeping the roadway surface.
