Henry Flaschenriem of Maple Lake died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Sunrise Cottages in Buffalo, where he has been a resident the past two years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. David Hennen officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Buffalo.
Henry Matthew Flaschenriem was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Maine Prairie Township, Stearns County, to Frank and Margaret (Steman) Flaschenriem. He was a 1953 graduate of Kimball High School, and was a farmer working many years for Pete and Charlene Mavencamp. He married Lisa Elfmann May 4, 1996, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo. Henry was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church and enjoyed making ceramic cows and collecting model tractors and wind chimes.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Nick and Dale, sister Rita Dropps, and brother-in-law Wallace Dropps.
He is survived by his wife Lisa of Maple Lake; brother Gerald (and Mona) of St. Cloud, sister Linda of Blaine, father-in-law and mother-in-law Edgar and Mary Ann Elfmann of Maple Lake; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law Ann Elfmann of Blaine, Kim and Russ Gavin of Staples, Julie Paumen of Maple Lake, and Jason Elfmann of Maple Lake.
The pallbearers will be Jason Elfmann, Steve Mooney, LeRoy Elfmann, Corey Flynn, Nick Flaschenriem, and Charles Mavencamp. Gerald Flaschenriem will be an honorary pallbearer. The music for the service will be provided by Marge Pavlik, organist, and the St. Timothy's Resurrection Choir.
